Music and rhythm is the basis of communication.

The Early Years Foundation Stage states that baby’s of 8-20 months “take pleasure in making and listening to a wide variety of sounds.”

Babies will be able to handle these smaller instruments with ease, begin to discriminate between the different sounds they make and develop relationships by interacting and vocalising with adults and peers.
